The Account Supervisor (AS) is responsible for working with clients and account executives to develop long-term advertising/marketing plans and strategies. Has overall responsibility for agency output while providing perspective leadership in the development of the highest quality client service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Client Management/Relationship – day-to-day contact for client, build trust and rapport, work directly with client with or without supervision
  • Managing junior account team members – supervise and provide mentorship for AAE, AE and/or SAEs on business
  • Internal hub for particular piece of business – go-to person for cross-functional team(s), collaborate effectively with Strategic Planning, Scientific Services, Creative, etc, foster positive internal relationships and ensure everyone understand deliverables and clients’ needs

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic recommendations and manage all agency resources to ensure the client’s marketing needs are met
  • Conceive, develop and execute marketing communications and promotions on client’s behalf, which match their marketing objectives and strategies
  • Recommend sound business initiatives pertaining to the product and markets that enhances sales and marketing objectives while enforcing the agency’s image as a vital resource to the product team
  • Daily communication with client to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Maintain strong relationships with all levels of client management
  • Manage all jobs relating to account
  • Act as team leader to ensure integration of agency disciplines (scientific, media, art, copy, accounting, production, creative, library services)
  • Financial management of accounts (determine annual fee, prepare contracts, oversee job hours and expenses, budget for future estimates)
  • Manage, motivate, and develop account team

Requirements

  • 4+ years of prior account management experience at a pharmaceutical ad agency is required (HCP experience preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with high attention to detail and to agency process
  • Extremely organized and proactive with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment
  • A passion for solving problems and the ability to be inspired rather than discouraged by difficult challenges
  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • Computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Commands internal and external leadership and can independently debate the strategy and the work with clients
  • Works independently at leading and managing jobs and the creative-strategic development process
  • Evaluates the work from a strategic perspective
  • Identifies budget issues
  • Helps identify priorities and communicates them across the team
  • Problem solves for internal and external issues on a basic level
  • Is a mentor for junior members of the team
  • Consistently demonstrates internal/external leadership
  • Mobilizes the team to achieve client goals
  • Provides a vision and strategic leadership for the creative team
