Account Director (Medical Communications)

The Account Director should be strategic, thorough, organized, and a driven account extraordinaire with great interpersonal skills who has worked on major professional pharmaceutical accounts. The candidate must interpret marketing info and design/develop strategic objectives and have the ability to manage workflows (schedules, program implementation, meeting planning). A college degree with experience in the medical communications or medical advertising agency industry is required. Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmaceutical products, rules, regulations and program implementation procedures. The ability to write proposal and negotiate contracts is a plus. Microsoft Office use and knowledge is required as well as a team player attitude and excellent phone skills. Travel is required.


The Account Director will simultaneously manage all aspects of multiple medical education projects, proactively pursue information to assist program, creative, and editorial with program development. Candidates must be able to interact in a professional manner with internal team(s), healthcare professionals, clients, and other experts. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of strategic thinking, creative excellence and accuracy, and consistent delivery of the highest caliber of service to the account. Several activities highly important to the position are captured below:

 Contribute to new business creative, strategic and program development

 Manage and exceed client expectations for all facets of project management, tactical element development and project execution

 Provide day-to-day management and ongoing communications with internal team in regards to strategic program planning, material development and project implementation

 Work closely with senior-level account leads to manage multiple accounts, ensuring client programs are implemented with strategic insight and exceptional service within time and budget allocations

 Liaise with faculty and outside vendors to coordinate logistical facets of program development, execution and budget management as appropriate

 Ensure the highest standards of quality control of client materials and program material

 Travel to program sites and work closely with onsite team to insure smooth running programs (minimal overnight or weekend travel)

 Prepare status reports, program materials, develop and oversee audience accumulation materials and faculty instructional materials
